Johannesburg Mission Reunion 2007

Thanks to everyone who was able to attend the reunion that was held this year on March 30, 2007. We had about 120 people there and it was so nice to see old friends and renew our friendships from many years ago. From the smiles and warm greetings I saw take place, I know everyone was happy to be there.
The Bateman's, I'm sure, were very happy with the turnout and were so excited for the event to take place. I know it meant a lot to them to see you all, and we all missed those weren't able to be in attendance.
Thanks to those who came in from long distances to be there--Nigel Giddy from Ireland, Mike Whitlock from Virginia, Ron Jewer from Ontario, Canada, Robert Lyman from Texas, Rory Adams, Teri Lang Nickel and Maurine Carr Wise from Idaho, Mindy Moody FLake, Mike Flake, Bryan Packham, Laura Bateman Boelter and the Bateman's from Arizona, Bruce Hage from Washington, James Munafo from Colorado. There were also several who came in from long distances to be there. We appreciate your efforts to be with us.
Thank you to Jeri Turner Bankhead who worked behind the scenes and made sure we had plenty of food and kept me on track with the plans.
Thanks to Cody Estes for contributing her creative producing skills on the DVD and to all those who contributed pictures for the DVD.
Below are some of the pictures from the reunion. I hope you all had a wonderful time--I know I did.

Vicki (Thurm: "Five knocks on the door- no more, no less")--
I am sick that I missed this event! There are so many memories in those faces. Thanks for all of your hours and expertise in taking on this event. Wishing I could have been there...

Thank-you for putting this together. I haven't see the Batemans (and others) since 1986. I think we all look the same. ;-) Thanks again to all of those who made this happen. It was worth the walk from Toronto!

Wow! What an event I missed. Sure wish I could have been there. Seems strange how much a picture can make you mission homesick. Please keepme posted on upcoming events and reunions! Thanks and Hi everyone!

Hello all. Glad I googled this site up. Even more surprised to see Ennis and me on a picture here. I will post some more. Hey Ennis, I have a better Blyde Rivier pic than you, you'll see. The mission seems like another distant life for me now. It felt strange to see some old familiar faces. Good memories. I would love to get to a reunion sometime. To all those I served with I am alive and well up here in Ontario Canada. E-mail me if you like. renchers@jam21.net. Some I have been in contact with. Maybe see you sometime. Will be in Utah in end of July. Steve Rencher

Sorry, I got confused with the actual mission website. I will post some of my old slides I recently digitized over there.
